Your Mom Writes Books

“Your Mom Writes Books” is a podcast hosted by Charlie N. Holmberg and Caitlyn McFarland. As the title suggests, they are authors and they talk about different facets of writing and books.
I’ve read books by Charlie and enjoy her writing style. I haven’t read anything by Caitlyn yet, but she is going to re-publish her original dragon series, which I’m looking forward to reading!
I love their dynamic on the show and it is a real joy to listen to. I stopped listening to it when my anxiety got bad because they did a show on book recommendations (they all sounded so good and I got a bit overwhelmed by the amount of reading I wanted to do).
As I have been feeling better, I have binged this podcast over the last couple of weeks and am now caught up. I’m a bit sad that I don’t have any more episodes to listen to at the moment, but they usually post weekly.
They are on a load of different places to listen to podcasts (I listen on Apple Podcasts), but this link has a comprehensive list of where to listen and their description of the podcast.
If you are interested in books and the writing process, or just want to listen to two people chat, I’d definitely recommend this podcast. It has given me a lot of laughs and has taught me more about writing.
Staycation

Last week, John and I went to Yellowtop in Yorkshire for a few days. It’s a bit of a nature park with lodges.
We’ve been a few times, but this was our best experience yet. We mostly just stayed in the lodge watching shows and playing games on the Switch, but there is also a hot tub for each lodge.
We spent a lot of time in there looking at the stars!
Birthday

I had my birthday and had a great day. It was relaxing and then we went out for a couple meals when we got back home afterward.
I’ve had some bad luck over the last few years on my birthday (a mix of injury, illness, and lockdown), and it was really nice to have a good one!
I’m already starting to brainstorm ideas for next year and I’m looking forward to it.
